Why St. Jane is My Favorite Chicago Loop Hotel
The first reason would simply be the building, it’s not just a Chicago Loop Hotel, it’s an icon. I think that even if the service was just so-so (which it most definitely is not) I would still choose to stay here. I’ve never stayed in a hotel before where people are taking architectural tours, stopping to take photographs and learn about the building. The Carbide and Carbon building is an Art Deco masterpiece and considered one of Chicago’s finest architectural achievements. Fashioned in the shape of a champagne bottle with real gold trimmings on the exterior this building is something you must see to truly appreciate.
Location, Location, Location
St. Jane Chicago is located in the center of all the action on Michigan Avenue. When you walk out of your room, you’re only minutes away from enjoying Chicago’s Magnificent Mile attractions, Navy Pier, Millennium Park, Cloud Gate, The Art Institute of Chicago, fine dining and local events. The beds are heavenly, with I believe Serta mattresses that are top of the line, luxury linens that are soft and some of the best in-room coffee I have ever had.
Their concierge service made my stay even more amazing by offering some insights on where the little known gems of the city are as well as arranging travel for me to and from the airport. This Chicago Loop hotel is 10-20 minutes away from two major airports. You can be off the plane and in your room in as little as 15 minutes.
When it comes to parking this Chicago Loop Hotel does it right!
If you’ve ever driven to Chicago you know that the parking is atrocious, stressful and crazy expensive. When I drive into the city staying at St. Jane makes it easier. Unlike some of the hotels in the area that charge $90+ a night (and some don’t even give you in-out privileges) St Jane has some of the most affordable overnight parking in the area. Also, they have an ongoing promotion, Valet and Save, that reduces that cost to almost nothing. That’s saying a lot in a town with parking issues like Chicago where $100 a night for parking can be the norm.
